Workshop description:

This workshop is designed to provide structure for the training of short - term mission team leaders, as well as some suggestions as to the content of that training. It will speak to the need for training, the responsibilities of the team leader, ideas for team meetings, and issues pertinent to all aspects of leading a short - term team, from before the first meeting until after the trip is over. It should be valuable for those who may be team leaders and those who may have the responsibility for making sure teams are well prepared to be sent on mission.

Time: Saturday 2 to 4 p.m.

Bio: Jimmy Aycock has been a pastor in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church for thirty years, serving as an associate pastor at Asbury UMC in Madison, Alabama since 2000. He has led short term mission teams in Africa, Asia, and Central and South America, and has been involved in the training of short term mission team leaders for Asbury mission trips for the past several years. Jimmy and his wife Ann have four children, two grandchildren, and two more on the way.
