About
Poured Out.
The image of “pouring” keeps us mindful that God had poured His new life into us that we might pour our lives into the world He loves.
It is incredible to realize that the heart of God overflows with love for us! Scripture tells us that “God saved us, according to His mercy, through the Holy Spirit, who He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our savior.” (Titus 3:5-6)
Because the Holy Spirit has been “poured out” on us, we can be one with the Holy Trinity and other believers. (John 17:21-23) The Holy Spirit not only creates unity among believers but gives us the “heart” of Jesus to overflow in love for the world. Paul told Timothy, “I am already being poured out like a drink offering… (2 Timothy 4:8), alluding to his life that had been given over to spread the Gospel to those whom Jesus loves but are not saved.
